In the acknowlegements!
My eyes are dilated right now and I can't see much of anything.  Particularly not anything typed.  In fact, I stopped at the store after my eye appointment to pick up some cold medicine and food, but I couldn't read anything on the packages, so I became frustrated and left empty handed.  (I'll fix any typos here later.)

But!  I just wanted to tell you all, one of my crit partners from about a year and a half ago has a YA that came out from Viking this month.  His name is John C. Ford.  The book is THE MORGUE AND ME.  John mailed me a signed copy which I just pulled out of my mailbox.  After about a full minute of holding the book out in front of me at various lengths and angles, I spotted what appears to be my name on the acknowledgments page.  Yes, it is my name!

How awesome is that?  I am so excited and so touched.  I cannot wait to dive in and read this book again.  It was a pleasure the first time.  I am looking forward to seeing how it's changed since the draft I read!

Now I just have to wait for my eyes to get back to normal so I can do that!

Heee! I haven't seen your book yet! I went to the indie bookstore in search of it last week, but it had not yet arrived. But now that I know, thank you, Mandy! That really means a lot to me.

And don't you worry, I will SO make a big deal about seeing my name in your book when I get it on Friday. I don't think that's the kind of thing I can ever get stop getting excited about!!!!!! :-)

oh, haha. Then my scolding was premature. :-D

Indeed, yes. :-D

I wasn't at all sure how it would go. I never know how people decide who to put in there. And, of course, some people don't even do acknowlgements at all. I remember telling Dwayne last year that there were two books I'd critiqued that were coming out in 2009 where I might get a mention: yours and John's.

As it turns out, you both did. Awwwwwwwwwwww!

You're so much cooler than me!! there is only ONE that I am featured in and its not out yet. Therefore, you are the bigger supah-sta!

LOL! There was a time -- not too long ago -- when I'd started to think that the ONLY shot I had at seeing my name in print was if I somehow got mentioned in the acknowledgments of the books I'd critiqued! :-D

Yer name is in there next to mine! We are immortalized in print For EV ARRRR (Sandlot voice).

I was so thrilled, I was showing the bookstore employees, like "LOOKIT THIS!"

Eek, that's so exciting! I was thanked in the credits of a friend's film once and I nearly died (we found out at the screening).

Yes! What a cool thing, knowing that you contributed something along the way that made the creator want to thank you!

Wow!!! Congratulations Mindi. :) I know that must feel amazing to have your name in the acknowledgements of someone that just published their book. Way to go. :)
